Thrift Store finds and the photo spot

Today I stopped by a thrift store and scored a five items for $1.50.  Four of the items I'm not listing as I will be able to showcase them if and when I get to turn them into something.  However, one item is lovely as is and just needed some cleaning. I got a pink cradle the perfect size for one of the babies.

Mind you, rooms are not ready yet for the kids and I don't expect the cradle to be in a baby's room.  I think of it more like a place for the baby to lie while in the living room, family room, etc.  A crib is normally in the baby's room (in my opinion).  Here's a picture (I washed it and it's on a paper towel drying).

Isn't the cradle adorable?

I also worked on one of the photo spots I'm creating.  This is a simple cute spot for me to take photos of the girls (I have guys too, but I doubt they'll enjoy the spot) when they are modeling new clothes.

It's not quite finished, but the smaller girls are testing it out for me in their new outfits.

I'm going to need to figure out flooring, but the top of the table is white so it's working for now.  I may throw down a rug once in a while.  I need to keep the shots tight (see the height?), so once I create the next photo spot, I may leave this to the smaller girls only.  I think it's kind of cute.

Well off to plan some more and my next activity.  So many things I want to do.  I just need to focus.  See you in the next blog.

Today I start

I have been working on setting up my blog and wanted to get some things done before I start.  I am an avid doll lover who collected baby sized dolls and Barbies until now.  I have always wanted a hobby and thought I could repaint dolls, reroot and make clothes for them.  That didn't pan out.

Then I tried reborning, which also seemed hard for me as well.  Recently I started creating dioramas for my fashion dolls and buying articulated Barbies and Fashion Royalty dolls.  I am loving it!  I am also sticking with this hobby because I enjoy it so much.  The only thing I need to get under control is how all over the place I am.  One day I'm working on items for the next diorama, the next, I'm worried about clothes for the dolls to wear.

It doesn't matter, as long as it all comes together.  It is coming together!  So on this site I will be posting my progress, trial and error and definitely my successes.  I invite you to join me on my journey as I try to go from novice to a little more experienced.

Thank you and happy reading.
