Happy Holidays! - 2016

It's Christmas Eve and the team is wrapping up.  Time to take things down and then head out.

First to arrive and start clearing are Leera and Dallas.  Dallas is in the storeroom putting away camera equipment.  Leera has started removing items from the shelves.

Leera (to herself):  These were some cute cards.  I'm sorry I missed most of the photos.  I wonder if the same team will be assigned next year.  Well, it's a year from now, a lot can change.

While Leera is setting the cards down, Song and Waverly arrive.

Waverly:  Hi, Leera!  Glad you could make it.
Song:  It's good to see you.  I hope things have been going well.
Leera:  Hey, Guys.  Things are good.  I just had to make it for the clean up at least.  I've barely been here.  I hear you did a great job.  I've seen the survey cards from each photo shoot.

Waverly:  It was so much fun to be creative and keep trying to come up with poses.
Song:  And switching up the scenery a little each time.  I can see why you enjoy designing clothes.  It's all about being creative and challenging yourself.
Leera (laughing):  That sounds about right.
Waverly:  Thanks for using what little time you had to still make some outfits for us.
Leera:  Unfortunately, I didn't have time to design anything festive, but I wanted to give you guys something.
Waverly:  I'm loving this jumpsuit.
Song:  I'm loving this skirt.  Thanks!
Leera:  You're welcome.  Well, we should probably get to work.

Song and Waverly join Leera in stripping the studio.

Waverly:  After his stuff gets stored, I wonder if it will ever be used again.  I think these metal flowers are pretty cool.
Song:  Would you like one for yourself?
Waverly:  No, I don't think this would fit my d├ęcor.  I just wonder sometimes what will happen to things.

Song:  There are some nice things in here.  I know for a fact these boxes get used.  They're so festive.  I think we found a few good ways to use them.  The children's shots, for instance.
Leera:  That sounds so cute.  I have get Dallas to show me the photos he took.
Song:  They did come out pretty good, if I must say so myself.

Waverly:  Do we just keep this together?
Leera:  It will be hard to lift as is, so we should split it up.  You wouldn't want to not see because of a berry in your eye.
Waverly (smiling):  I guess that would be a little difficult.
Dallas (from across the room):  Did I hear someone say something about being difficult.  What do you need?

Leera:  I was just talking about getting this vase with this berry plant thing out of here.
Dallas:  Don't worry, Ladies.  I'll take care of it.
Leera:  Okay.  We're not in a big hurry, so I'm going to have a seat to look at some of these things.
Song:  Taren should be here any minute.
Leera:  I hope so. I wouldn't want to miss her.

Leera has a seat and Song plops down next to her.  Dallas grabs the vase and takes it to store it.

Song:  You know, Taren is married with a couple of children.  I can't wait to ask her all about them.
Waverly:  I'm glad she's happy.  It's just what she wanted and now look at her.
Leera:  Yes, I think it's a great thing.  Are you guys hoping to be married with kids?
Song:  I have some time to be single first.  I'm not in a rush.
Waverly:  Me neither.  I'm hoping to enjoy dating life for a little while.
Leera:  I hear you and I'm with you.
Dallas (who just came back):  I am looking forward to dating too.  I'm taking offers.
Waverly:  Let's just focus on shutting things down.

Dallas:  I'm not sure.  I may need some help with the tree.
Waverly:  We'll help you.  Don't strain yourself.
Dallas:  Okay.  Hey, I wonder if Taren will even make it.
Waverly:  Me too, with the family to take care of everything.
Taren (on her way in):  I can hear you and I'm married, not dead.  I'm here now.

Dallas:  Hey, Lady.  Congratulations on the family.
Taren:  Thank you.
Dallas:  I guess that means one less beautiful lady for me to try to woo.
Taren:  Aww, poor thing.  But don't worry, tomorrow's Christmas.  I have it on good authority there may be some new residents arriving.  You may just luck out.  One door closes, another one opens.
Dallas:  I hope so.

After hugging Dallas, Taren hugs everyone else and starts chatting.

Dallas:  Ladies, may I have your attention, please.

The ladies quiet down and turn to listen to Dallas.

Dallas:  We can't leave without a group photo.  Let's figure out how to pose.
Waverly:  I have one last sign to put in the frame.  I'll go grab it.
Taren:  I'll figure out a pose for us.  Song and Leera, can you please help me re-arrange a couple of things.
Song:  You got it.
Leera:  Of course.

Here's the team.

They hope you enjoyed their hard work on the photos this holiday season.  They're off to go get ready for their Christmas Day.  Maybe Taren will be right and there are new residents arriving.  We'll be sure to introduce them if there are some.

Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends!

Holiday Family Photos - Winters

So, Taren has her family.  She is so happy with her new life with her husband and two children.  Who knew she'd be related to Ember.  Pretty cool, huh?

Without further ado, here are the photos of the Winters family.

A Surprise Visit and A Special Resident

Announcement:  Today is the introduction of a special new resident.

It's Sunday, early afternoon, the day after Parker's and Ember's second date.  Erwyn is not home yet and Ember is in her living room watching television and enjoying a glass of red wine.  She has just finished her first glass and is about to get up to get another one when her cell phone rings.

Ember looks at her phone and sees it is Dane, her brother-in-law (her deceased husband Evan's brother).  He told her a couple of weeks ago to expect presents, but they haven't arrived yet.  She figures he is calling to check or just to say hello and check on her and Erwyn as usual.  She picks up the phone.

Ember:  Hi, Dane!  How are you?
Dane:  Hi, Ember.  I'm great. How are you?
Ember:  Good.  Just sitting here enjoying some time alone and sipping on some good red wine and watching mindless tv.  I figure it will keep me warm and toasty.
Dane:  I'm glad you're keeping warm.  We miss you and we'd love to see you.
Ember:  I know.  You say that every time you call.  You know Erwyn and I miss you all too.  I absolutely need to make plans to come visit.
Dane:  You sure do.  But for now, can you come open the door?  We're here!
Ember:  What?  You're here?  You came all the way out here to see us?!
Dane (laughing):  Yes. And unlike you, we're not warm and toasty while we're standing at the door.

Ember is very excited.  What a surprise!  She hurries to the door and opens it.  She is so happy to see Dane and his family, she lets them in and they all exchanges hugs and kisses.  They all take off their coats and hang them in the hallway closet.  Ember still wants her wine so says she is going to get another glass and offers them something to drink.  They decline because they aren't staying long.

Ember shows her guests to the living room, goes to the kitchen to fill up her glass, then comes back to talk to everyone.  She walks over to Dane, so happy to see him.

Ember:  Why didn't you tell me you were coming?  I would have prepared something.
Dane:  We wanted to surprise you.  But we don't want to stay long right now for two reasons.  First, you weren't expecting us, so we don't want to impose too long.  Second,  we have an appointment, we're going to take some holiday photos.
Ember:  Oh.  So how long are you visiting?
Dane:  We're staying for two weeks.  We want to make plans to visit with you and Erwyn.  Where is she?
Ember:  She's with my mother.  But I'm sure she'll be happy to see you.  We have to make plans.  Can you come on Christmas Day? Then maybe we can make more plans for that week since you'll still be here.  I don't have any meetings or business to handle.  Well maybe minor things, but I can work around those. I'm on a sort of vacation since Erwyn has winter break.

Taren:  We'd love to do that, we've missed you so much.  Plus we have presents for you guys.  Why give them on Christmas Day.
Ember:  Speaking of which, I sent yours. already.  How will you open presents on Christmas Day?
Taren:  We had a special opening for the kids before we left.  We brought a few with us, and there will be a few more when we get home.  We thought that would be fun since we won't be home on Christmas Day.
Ember:  Paisley and Queron are getting so big.  Let's have a seat and chat for a few minutes.

Ember picks up her nephew, Queron, and places him on her lap when she sits down.

Ember:  Okay.  So I get you are having photos taken.  You all look great, but why is this little guy dressed like a prince?
Dane:  He got that for Halloween and he thinks he is a real prince in it.  He begged to be photographed in it.
Taren:  Yes, he gave us a hard time about any other outfit we suggested.  We figured, what the heck? Let him feel good about what he's wearing.
Ember:  Well, Queron, you look absolutely adorable.  Just like a little prince.
Queron:  Thank you.
Taren:  Ember, we're so excited about being here.  We're going to have a great time.

Dane:  Will your sisters and mother be stopping by for Christmas Day?  It would be nice to see them.
Taren:  It sure would.  Syren always makes me laugh.  I hope we can see them while we're here.
Ember:  Yes, I'm sure you will see them.
Dane:  We're planning to see some holiday things while we're here.  Go to Baltimore, New York some local PA things.  So much to do.  Maybe you and Erwyn can join us while you're both off.
Ember:  That would be nice.  It would also be nice if Paisley could come spend the night with Erwyn.  You know, a girl's sleepover.  Would you like that Paisley?
Paisley:  Yes.  I want to see Erwyn.  We can play.
Ember:  Good.  We can do that after Christmas.

Taren:  Honey.  I think we've stayed long enough.  I can see that glass of wine is waiting for Ember to finish enjoying it.  Plus, we don't want to be late.  We'd better get going.
Dane:  Okay.  Let's head out in a minute.  Maybe I can run to the store afterwards and get a little shopping done.

Taren:  That reminds me.  Can the kids and I stop by tomorrow?  Dane has a little shopping he'd like to do and we're not allowed to go with him.
Ember:  Sure.  In the afternoon would be best.  Erwyn will be home and I can wrap up work early.
Taren:  Great.  I would like to see the rest of your house. So maybe I can get a tour tomorrow?
Ember:  Of course.
Dane: We'll call you in the morning to confirm a time.  I'll drop Taren and the kids off and then come pick them up.
Ember:  Okay.   We can talk and let the kids play and just enjoy being together.  This is a great surprise.  Erwyn will be so excited.  I'll make dinner.
Taren:  I'll help you.  I'm looking forward to it.
Dane: Me too.

Dane, Taren, Paisley and Queron go get their coats on and then leave to make their photo appointment in time.  Ember is happy they came.  Erwyn hasn't seen her father's side of the family in a while, although Dane and Taren do call often enough to check on how they are and to stay in touch.

THE SPECIAL NEW RESIDENT

In case you hadn't guessed, and since there is more than one resident introduced in this story, Queron is the special new resident.  Queron 1:1 has made his debut in 1:6 form.  Mind you, he did not take one photo for his own introduction.  After he took photos of Zenia, Jye and Seiko for the last post, he disappeared on me.  So I went on without him.

Holiday Photos - Reynolds, Richards & Winters

Here are more holiday photos.  First are Marlin Reynolds and her mother, Bonnie.  Although their relationship is strained right now, they still love each other and didn't want to miss out on taking photos together.  It is no surprise Marlin's father didn't join them, but they didn't let that stop them.

Bonnie likes that sentiment and is pointing it out because in her heart, it applies to her daughter.

These are such sweet photos of these two.

Next are Fatima Richards and her daughters Syren, Henna and Ember and granddaughter, Erwyn.  Ember's married name (she is widowed), along with Erwyn's, is Winters.  Syren and Henna are still single, with no children and enjoying it.  Maurice, Henna's current beau, who has been with her for a while, asked to participate, but Henna declined.  She didn't mean to be dismissive, but they are not married so she isn't ready to include him in official family photos.

Here are their photos.

Fatima and her girls - L-R Syren, Henna, Fatima and Ember

Just  closer shot, we couldn't figure out which one was better.

Fatima, Erwyn and Ember - Three generations

All the Ladies

Six days to go.  Can we get them all in before Christmas?  Probably not, but then we can always get them in by New Year's Eve.  The team -  Dallas, Taren, Waverly and Song - are doing their best to get everyone scheduled and photographed.  I'm rooting for them.
